| THE CANYON MAIN LIVING ROOM SITE. Mom and Dad survey the proposed living room with my sister-in-law, Pat, and Jeffrey and Pamela looking on. My brother, Erick, must have been hiding around the corner. This is a good view of the corridor connecting both terraces where it intersects the living area of the proposed main house. The right image is a cut-away drawing of the central part of the main house in the rock canyon. It would be immediately to the right of the figures in the left photograph. The corridor has a pocket cut half way in to accommodate the lowest level of the sunken living room, with fireplace in the immediate right corner. All walls would be trimmed and sealed with sealer to prevent flaking while letting it remain as natural looking as possible. This is the design for a large, three-story log structure with balconies looking down into the central pit. The drawing is by architect Jerry Taylor of San Francisco. |
